We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Bell Bay Aluminium Smelter to provide technical engineering support as well as provide guidance and leadership to a team of professionals. This is an exciting newly created role within the Asset Management team, which would offer a technical expert the opportunity to progress into a leadership role and assist in enabling our people to be their best and continually innovate and challenge the way work is done.
This role is a great opportunity for individuals looking to work in a dynamic maintenance environment where you can influence safety, compliance and reliability which covers maintenance, maintenance planning and engineering, whilst developing your operational leadership skills.
Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Engineering, you will:
- Identify, lead and drive improvement in fixed and mobile plant maintenance
- Ensure maintenance best practices are safely utilised to maximise equipment reliability and minimise the time and cost of repairs
- Review and optimise preventative maintenance planning and scheduling activities
- Engage and collaborate with operational and other key stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A passion and enthusiasm to continually improve safety, production and cost
- Chartered or RPEQ Mechanical Engineer Status
- Demonstrated maintenance, discipline or reliability engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability processes and systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS
- A current ‘C’ Class drivers’ licence
- Proven success managing multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and key stakeholders across the business including operations and maintenance
