About the Role
We are enthusiastically seeking the talents of an experienced and strategically minded Engineering Professional to join the BHP team in the capacity of Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer supporting Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI), including villages, water infrastructure, community infrastructure and aerodromes.
Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability NPI, in this newly created position you will be tasked with:
- Develop and foster a culture that strives to continuously improve safety, reliability and cost performance
- Identify and manage/eliminate asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations
- Lead by example through sharing best practices and striving for unity of effort consistency in service provision across a geographically dispersed asset portfolio
- Apply ISO 55000 asset management principles to effectively manage an aging asset base over its lifecycle
- Provide strategic reliability advice and guidance to site teams across village maintenance and water infrastructure
About You
To be successful in this role you have a background in mechanical engineering combined with lifecycle asset management expertise. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills, are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve results.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, and/or asset management roles
- Excellent technical understanding of maintenance process, preventive maintenance and lifecycle asset management techniques
- Ability to apply risk management principles to all facets of work.
- Excellent understanding of “maintenance as a business” and business improvement principles, applied to maintenance processes
- Excellent analytical and business valuation skills
- Ability to communicate, collaborate and influence with confidence
- The skills and genuine desire to support, mentor and coach your team
This role is offered as flexible FIFO with up to 3 days a week on site plus time in Perth on a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster. Alternative flexible working arrangements will be considered for the successful candidate.
