Senior Mine Geologist

Position Title Senior Mine Geologist

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 8D/6R 4D/3R or similar – FIFO ex Perth

Role overview:

Ensure that the geology services are delivered to the mining operation in a safe, accurate and timely manner to facilitate activities within the active mining area, This role works closely with the Senior Project Geologist and with a focus on data collection and short-term geology planning.

This role will have some roster flexibility, usually we offer as a standard 8 days on, 6 days off, then 4 days on 3 days off, but you will be empowered to manage your time as needed. We can look at some working from home and Perth based days as well.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervise a team of Mine Geologist and Field Samplers
• Block outs and geological mapping
• Managing a team of professionals and samplers
• Ensuring safe and effective work is carried out in a timely manner
• Build all processes and systems for the mine geology team

Qualification and Experience: 

• Degree in Geology or Geoscience
• Experience with setting up and running mine geology systems
• Significant experience in a range of deep, hard-rock mining operations
• Skills and knowledge of running a team
