Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Mine Technical Services is looking to recruit an industry experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to join their team. This integral leadership role will provide an exciting opportunity to build and lead a specialised team of site-based Mine Surveyors across our Robe Valley and Paraburdoo operations in the Pilbara.
This role will ensure quality surveying services are provided to the operational, geotechnical and planning teams to support the execution of the mine plan and drive a positive safety culture within the team, whilst ensuring the integrity and delivery of 3D spatial mine data and services within the mine lease.
This permanent position will be offered on a working roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, flying out of Perth and will suit Perth residents or those willing to relocate to Perth on a permanent basis.
About you
You will have tertiary qualifications in Surveying or equivalent and be a holder of a Grade 2 Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate as a minimum, coupled with demonstrated, practical surveying and leadership experience ideally gained within an open-pit mining environment. You will have strong computer skills and the ability to communicate, engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Previous experience working with machine guidance systems will be required as will a ‘C’ class driver’s licence. RPAS (Drone) licence, experience operating RPAS and processing resulting data and a working knowledge of Trimble surveying equipment will be advantageous. Exposure to Vulcan Software data processing for accurate pit model, design checks and bench volumes will be well regarded.
