We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to join our site-based team in Blackwater.

About the Role

Reporting to the Survey Superintendent you will be an energetic mining professional looking for an amazing career progression. You will provide best practice survey services to the site, whilst ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining standard for the surveying aspects of the annual technical services plan.

You will also produce timely and accurate weekly reports and plans of the mining operation, whilst providing advice on emerging or key surveying issues with a short-term focus and recommend approaches to systematically deal with them that are consistent with the Technical Services plan and strategies. Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Accountable for leading survey activities and managing the survey team.
• Ensuring survey data integrity and calculations comply with mine plans.
• Ensuring all end of month surveys and reports are completed to an appropriate level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensuring statutory survey reporting and plans as required under the QLD Act and Regulations are kept up to date. 
• Ensure the maintenance and calibration of survey equipment.
• Perform survey activities including survey mark-up of planned development, planned drilling and development pickups
• Provide surface surveying including stockpile and dump pickups, surface excavation pickups
• Operating mine drone for monthly surface survey pickups.
• Promoting a safe workplace and culture.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in Surveying or Spatial Science
• Registered Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland or have the ability to obtain and hold a Mining (O) or Mining (A) endorsement
• Previous exposure to Trimble GPS, Autocad, and Vulcan, Point Studio and Agisoft is desirable
• Demonstrated leadership experience and team building capability 
• Current “C” Class QLD Open Class Drivers License
• Well-developed English language oral and written communication skills
• Well-developed influencing, communication, and consultation skills
• Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
• Current Generic Surface Induction (Standard 11)
