About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer will coordinate and provide mine-engineering support including mine design, planning, scheduling and monitoring of overburden, coal removal and material stockpiling
What You’ll Do
- Liaise with supervisors, superintendents and technical staff to ensure timely planning
- Identify technical and business improvements to increase productivity and/or reduce mining costs
- Complete reporting-providing physicals and recovery calculations for overburden and coal
- Analyse and report production data & maintain production database
- Provide technical assistance to operational and technical staff
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Mining engineering and understanding of engineering practices
- Experienced in engineering applications in Open Cut mining environment
- Very strong mine design and scheduling skills
- Familiarity with software packages (Spry, Vulcan & 3D-Dig)
- Safety oriented, identifying hazards and addressing safety issues
