Senior Mining Engineer

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Wilpinjong mine.  Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export with long term contracts for the domestic market.  Wilpinjong is a multi-seam operation utilising truck / excavator and dozer push methods and is currently mining >14mtpa ROM coal.

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the scope of your role will be to work in the space of Drill and Blast, Truck Shovel, Dozer push, Scheduling and you will also have the ability to lead and mentor Mining Engineers. You will receive exposure to software such as SPRY, Gannt Scheduler, Blastlogic and Vulcan, all of which training will be provided for.

Key to the role will be to actively engage with key stakeholders to communicate the schedule and designs to ensure production processes are optimised in order to continuously improve operational efficiencies.

About you:

This role would suit a either a qualified Mining Engineer or someone who has experience in Mining operations who is looking for their next stage of development – ideally you will have:

• Relevant experience in OC Coal / metal operations
• Experience in blasting (well regarded), in either OC or U/G and Coal or Metal 
• Minimum experience of 3 years
• Experience in mining software (Vulcan, SPRY, Gannt Scheduler of Blastlogic is highly regarded)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Drive for continuous personal and professional development is required
