About the Role
Reporting to the Manager of Planning, and being based in our Brisbane or Newcastle Office, this role will provide a brilliant opportunity to continue challenging work, all whilst being based in a major city.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;
- Provision of technical guidance to onsite Technical and Operational teams.
- Work with sites to establish and maintain a robust Mine Planning Cycle.
- Provide long and mid-term planning support.
- Provide ad-hoc engineering support to sites.
- Lead the analysis and reporting of mining production data across the organisation.
- Build cross-functional relationships with operations to support the delivery of production plans and improvements.
- Help create accurate Life of Mine and Budget Plans.
- Work with sites to ensure excavation methods are optimised by reconciling plans, actual performance and variations, as they occur
You will also be travelling to site on a fortnightly basis for 2-3 days, so you must be willing and able to do that.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering.
- Experience using mine planning software.
- Experience in Mid and Long Term Planning.
- Drill and Blast Experience.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets/databases.
- Experience in optimising coal schedules.
- Experience with major software packages such as Deswick, Spry, Vulcan or Minex.
Another bonus would be if you were to possess a NSW Mine Managers ticket, however this is not a requirement.
