About the Role

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer's key responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• The coordination, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Mine Plan within the 0-18 Month time horizon, this includes the creation and maintenance of the 3 Month Plan, Short Range Forecast (SRF), Dig & Dump Design, Haulage optimisation and all other associated planning functions
• Review and approve Short Term Dig & Dump and Drill & Blast plans developed by the Production/Mining Engineers
• Effectively communicate the Mine Plan outputs to the required stakeholders to ensure it is effectively understood and implemented.
• Input into the development of the annual budget and 5YP.
• Act as a role model within the Technical Services team providing mentoring and coaching support to others as required while also providing direct supervision for the Graduate Mining Engineer.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Roster: Monday to Friday with flexible working arrangements.

About You

• Ideally you will have a Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering or similar technical discipline
• You will have a strategic mindset and possess strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
• A minimum 3 years’ experience in Technical Roles within the Mining Industry
• Previous experience in Operational Planning encompassing short term, medium term and long term planning
• Highly developed skills pertaining to mining software packages and engineering practices(Vulcan, Deswik, SPRY)
• You will be passionate about your work, able to engage with clients and peers and be a highly motivated individual who is proactive with a "can do" attitude
• Excellent planning and organising skills, the ability coach / mentor junior engineers and to enlist help or resources when required.
