Senior Mine Planning Engineer – 3 Month Planning

Roster: 4D/3R FIFO ex Perth
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our site-based Medium Term Planning team on a 4/3 roster. Reporting to the Superintendent Medium Term Planning, this role is responsible for carrying out coordination of 3 Month mining schedules, development projects and associated designs. To be successful in this role candidate must have strong interpersonal skills with both operational, shorter (2 week) and longer term (2 year) planning intervals and be able to articulate potential risks and opportunities within the planned works.
Key accountabilities include:
- Timely delivery of plans, designs and schedules to meet internal delivery timelines
- Coordination of multiple stakeholders in mine development projects to distribute resources effectively and meet critical deadlines for delivery
- Analysing performance and compliance to plan to validate and refine the assumptions in the 3-month plan
- Liaise with support functions, including Approvals, Geology, Drill & Blast, Geotechnical, Hydrogeology and Surface Water to understand risk and opportunities to the mine plan and to enable timely achievement of milestones
- Identify risks and opportunities to the work produced
- Communicating options, designs and plans to relevant stakeholders
- Mentor and train Mine Planning Engineers
Qualifications and skills required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or similar
- Relevant experience gained as a Mining Engineer (5 years minimum)
- Strong medium term planning skills (3MP and 2YP)
- Computer and scheduling software proficiency (Vulcan, Excel, MS Office, Alastri Tactical Scheduler, Haul Infinity and Rapid Reserver or other equivalent scheduling packages)
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with both operations and technical teams
- Strong communication/presentation skills with the ability to convey technical details, potential risks and opportunities to a variety of stakeholders
- Team orientation and strong ability to take initiative
