About the Role
Carrapateena is currently transitioning from a Sub Level Cave to a Block Cave, extending the mine life beyond 2040. With development of the Block Cave footprint fast approaching, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join the team. You’ll be given the opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the future of Carrapateena and uniquely positioned to experience the numerous aspects and challenges associated with this transition.
Joining a team that enables Carrapateena to make data driven decisions, ensuring safety and maximising value, with a vision to be industry leaders in caving operations, your core focus will be on refining long term mine plans and designs, readying them for execution.

This role is based in Adelaide on a Mondy-Friday basis with regular travel to Carrapateena however we’re open to discussing preferred roster structure with the right candidate, with 8:6 and 4:3 options available.
In this role you will:

Further develop Block Cave mine designs and schedules, in preparation for handover to medium term planning and execution teams, including mass excavations and footprint development.

Conduct trade off analysis to inform Block Cave infrastructure and mine designs.

Continually challenge and analyse to find better ways and reduce executional risks.

Support management of consultants and engineering services providers.

Assist medium term planning teams as required.
About You

A commitment to safety leadership.

Experience in Block Caving or large underground projects is highly regarded.

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar.

Demonstrated competence to work independently and identify improvement opportunities.

Ability to interact successfully with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Capacity to manage and work to multiple deadlines.

Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Sched experience an advantage.
