Hail Creek Open Cut is a large scale open cut operation located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in Queensland.  With a mine life of 20+ years, production nearing 10 million tonnes per year and producing both coking and thermal coal products, Hail Creek is one of the premier coal mines in Australia, with a focus on safety, efficiency and productivity.  Hail Creek is an inclusive workplace and offers an attractive commute roster close to a major regional centre and airport.
We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Senior Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team.  Reporting to the Short Term Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for all drill and blast designs at Hail Creek Open Cut.  You will lead a team of two engineers to deliver blasted inventory safely and on time, whilst also participating in additional duties such as continuous improvement initiatives and project work.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience using Vulcan, BlastLogic and/or DataBlast. You will hold a degree in Mining Engineering or have practical experience in a similar role. You will demonstrate visible leadership, always prioritise safety, act decisively, honestly and with integrity at all times.
