Senior Mining Engineer - Medium Term Planning

Hail Creek Mine is a large scale open cut coal mine located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the northern Bowen Basin mining region of central Queensland.  With a long mine life of 20+ years producing primarily metallurgical coal products, Hail Creek is an inclusive workplace with a focus on safety, efficiency and productivity.  We are seeking a passionate Senior Mining Engineer to join our Technical Services Team.

As a successful candidate, you will report through to the Medium and Long Term Planning Superintendent and lead two other Medium Term Mining Engineers in delivering plans, designs and schedules to ensure that the operation’s longer-term visions can be realised.  Working as the key link between the Long and Short Term Planning teams on site, you and your team will have the opportunity to refine and optimise the current mine plan all the way from conceptual stages through to implementation, as well as gain exposure to the longer-term Budget and Life of Mine planning processes.

You will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining/Civil or related field), be proficient in Mine Design and Scheduling packages (such as Vulcan, Deswik, Spry or similar), and have a minimum of two years relevant experience including leadership opportunities (either formal or informal).
