Our Opportunity

 

Work Location : Cloudbreak . Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 8D:6R – FIFO ex Perth

 

The Cloudbreak Operations Planning team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mining Engineer. Reporting to the Superintendent Short Term Planning, you would lead and mentor a team of 5-6 people, working an 8/6 roster at the Cloudbreak site.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Leadership, mentoring, and supervision of Daily Engineers & Blend Coordinators
  • As required, weekend leadership coverage for all Cloudbreak Operations Planning as Weekend Duty Holder
  • Ensure rail product quality targets are achieved from the mine
  • Plan and deliver the daily mine plan, material destination plan, and crusher blend plan
  • Execute the weekly mine plan and stockpile build/reclaim strategy, oversee the ROM & Product Stockpile Management Plan
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders including OPF, Mining, Integrated Planning, and HIVE
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of production and quality performance KPI’s
  • Champion safety initiatives and support safe operational practices

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5yr’s experience at a mining operation
  • Previous experience in technical leadership roles highly desirable.
  • Strong scheduling software skills, experience with Alastri software highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical detail to a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Team oriented with the strong ability to take initiative.
  • Short to medium term planning, scheduling, and mine design knowledge
  • Current WA C-Class driving licence.
