ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent Full-Time position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa.  

As the Senior Mining Project Lead, you will be responsible for planning, developing, executing, and implementing a program of work that aligns with defined areas of accountability, ensuring the successful delivery of capital and operational projects.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to deliver cost-effective solutions on time
• Demonstrate strong governance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with business needs
• Facilitate clear communication and reporting on project status, milestones, and risks
• Support a culture of safety and continuous improvement through effective leadership and fostering collaboration

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Significant exposure to underground mining operations and/or projects
• Experience simultaneously leading and managing multiple projects ($8-10m portfolio)
• Delivering full life cycle brownfield projects ($10k-$3M) in remote locations
• Skilled in developing and managing schedules and budgets
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams, driving success through coaching, performance management, and collaboration

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant industry experience
• Project management qualification desirable
• Current C Class drivers licence
