About the Role

The TROC Senior Specialist for Networks / Hosting is responsible for ensuring that TROC and Service Lines operate with a high level of integrity, using discipline and standardisation to improve technology support services. 

This is achieved through close collaboration, open lines of communication and the commitment to deliver on accountabilities as part of the Technology Minerals Australia Team.

Accountabilities include:

  • Standardise and Improving Performance 
  • Provide input on safety, people, production, accountability & transparency of its people and systems. 
  • Development of People, Process, Technology and Resources 
  • Provide upskilling and alignment of TROC 24/7 Specialists in their role to ensure standardisation across our teams. 
  • Enable TROC 24/7 Specialists with the tools and training to execute technology work ensuring safe systems of work utilising existing tools, operating standards, and work management/service management processes.   

Reporting to the TROC 24x7 Superintendent the successful person will be working at our Perth Office on a Monday - Friday day shift roster in the Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC). 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in operational support of critical services in large scale environments, preferably mining/resources. You will be a logical thinker and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills (including root-cause analysis) with the ability to prioritise effectively in a high-pressure environment. We are looking for someone with the following experience:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Information Technology, in monitoring and supporting the infrastructure services
  • Hosting Compute and Storage platforms. i.e. Vmware, Cisco UCS, Dell Vxrail, Netapp Metro Clusters
  • Citrix – Application Delivery
  • Cisco Networking LAN / WAN
  • Cisco ASA / Checkpoint firewalls
  • Facility Devices, UPS, AirCon – CRAC, DataPods, Generators
  • Monitoring Tools (Ignition, SolarWinds, Splunk, DCE)
  • Proven record of accomplishment in delivery of support services
  • Experience with Project Transition to Operations activities
  • Familiarity of ServiceNow (or familiarity with ITSM systems) and SAP
  • Previous experience working in an IT/OT Operations Centre (highly desirable)
  • Previous mining/resources experience including operational support of mission critical services in large scale environments

You will be a multi-tasking team player who can quickly and effectively assess the business impact of changes and incidents. With well-developed oral and written communication skills you will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels.

You will need to lead and coach team members and engage across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will have a strong focus on customer service, collaboration and continuous improvement.

As the preferred candidate, you will ideally have a trade/tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Engineering or related discipline.
