Shutdown People Logistics Officer – 12 month fixed term contract

Work Location: Fortescue Centre; Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people. Site travel is required during shutdown periods (approx. every 3rd swing).

Roster: 8D/6R

Role overview:

Fortescue’s People Logistics team requires a Shutdown Logistics officer to support the successful execution of Fortescue Shutdowns. In collaboration with site shutdown planning and execution teams, you will be responsible for the mobilisation, coordination of flights and administration of our contracting partners mobilising across Fortescue Sites for shutdowns.

Reporting to the People Logistics Shutdown Supervisor, this role is for an individual with exceptional customer service who is also able to work in a face paced environment. Maintaining strong customer relations is pivotal to the role whilst helping to maintain a high quality of service delivery and on site support for Shutdown planning teams where required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurate and timely reconciliation of daily statistics for the team (processing times, individual performance)
  • Oversee the shutdown planning and booking process for all sites and provide feedback to the Supervisor
  • Assist the Shutdown Logistics Supervisor by providing support in logistic utilisation, by reporting any efficiencies that can be achieved in flights and/or accommodation.
  • Provide support to the shutdown logistics coordinators during transactions and/or when required, troubleshooting internal team queries.
  • Provide assistance to the Shutdown Logistics Supervisor on formulating the department procedures and ensure staffs are trained and adequate in training requirements.
  • Help provide weekly training to the team and external parties

Education and Experience: 

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience in a similar role
  • SAM & Success Factor experience highly preferrable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to continuously prioritise workload
  • Professional, enthusiastic, positive and capable of working in a dynamic environment
