We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Senior Planner's to join our Maintenance, Planning & Engineering teams across the Pilbara.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance Planning and Engineering, this vital leadership role will be responsible for a team of Planners and Schedulers at our Hope Downs 4 site, in addition but not limited to; -

  • Supporting and developing a multi-disciplined team in the delivery of Shut Management and Work Management processes.
  • Providing expert technical advice to Fixed Plant, MEM, infrastructure and Mine Water Management
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to allow for productive interfaces with the site maintenance teams.
  • Participate in Work Management and Shut Management health check reviews and other assurance activities.
  • Apply disciplined governance and quality assurance across Shut Management and Work Management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets whilst bringing the team on a journey of continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in utilising SAP
  • Accountable for the preparation of the annual area maintenance Zero Based Budgets (ZBB) and continuously reviewing conformance to budget.
  • Support the development of integrated schedules, associated deliverables, monitors status against schedule and updates as appropriate.

What you’ll bring

  • Be proactive with a commitment in driving a safe and inclusive team culture.
  • Proven experience with zero based budgeting, Capital componentisation and data analytics
  • Have leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing, and coaching planning and scheduling teams.
  • Proven relevant experience within the mining industry in either heavy mobile equipment or fixed plant environments.
  • Capable of working in challenging environments whilst maintaining effective time management and organisational skills
  • Well-developed analytical and technical competencies that support planning and scheduling processes, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees across all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to manage a team independently with a capacity to build collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Work Management and Shut Management processes.
  • Hold a current ‘C’ class driver’s licence.

Located 50km north-west of Newman, Hope Downs 4 is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, working in conjunction with nearby site Hope Downs 1. Hope Downs 4 provides excellent career growth and opportunities and the village provides excellent facilities for its FIFO workers.
