The Opportunity - Senior Planner – Permanent position – 9 day-fortnight working arrangement

The purpose of the Senior Planner role is to facilitate the governance and reporting of work management and metrics and to assist in the development and mentoring of work management planners and perform work management planner activities.

Located in the picturesque south-west and Peel regions of Western Australia, South32 Worsley Alumina is on a journey to become the world’s leading Alumina producer where our 1500 workforce value the lifestyle that Worsley Alumina has to offer.
This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie

Accountabilities  

Primary responsibilities are to: 

•    Lead, coach and mentor planning teams to deliver a planning excellence program
•    Facilitate the design of maintenance work that is both safe and environmentally sound to a level of detail that enables efficient and repeatable execution 
•    Create & Plan work orders that enable effective deployment of work management resources, including personnel, service providers and materials
•    Build and communicate accurate work schedules reflecting all work management activities, ensuring they are adequately resourced and aligned to the corresponding 12-week planning cycle 
•    Request and Govern work management master data changes as required, based on equipment strategy reviews, failure analysis and identified quality errors

About You  
 
•    Leadership in developing people and managing an effective team 
•    Trade qualification or formal process operator qualification
•    High functionality of SAP’s Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
•    Previous experience in a Maintenance Planning or Scheduling role
•    Knowledge of safe working practices, hazard identification and risk assessment
•    Experience in decision-making that directly affected his / her own team and closely related teams
