The role will take system, operational, maintenance, financial and reliability implications into consideration to ensure optimal strategies & tactics are in place to meet business needs.
This role is a great opportunity to influence the planning and optimisation of track maintenance, major projects and other on/ near- track activities. The role will continually collaborate, consult and communicate with various stakeholders including Rail Maintenance, Planning & Scheduling teams, Asset Management, Rail Operations, Major Projects, Engineering and other groups as required.
Working 5 days on, 2 days off roster and reporting to the Superintendent, Rail Planning & Logistics, you will be:
- Leveraging your strategic & technical mindset to input, develop & implement key projects and initiatives impacting the Rail Network
- Demonstrating the application of strong change management practices to ensure effective delivery of initiatives
- Proactively challenging existing planning processes to drive optimal operating strategies & tactics for execution teams
- Identifying learning’s from executed plans to ensure continuous improvement
- Support the development and upskilling of team members to promote a cross-functional team
- Influencing a broad stakeholder group to meet deliverables
What you will need for this roleTo succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience in Operational / Production / Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Excellent problem solving and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work through & distill complex issues
- A continuous improvement mindset and ability to manage and adapt to change in a highly dynamic environment
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Relevant experience in railway logistics, including track maintenance planning & safeworking practices
- Experience with Rio Tinto operational systems (e.g. NetPASS, MSF, HOS Rail, HOSTC, HOSDI) & Track Access Frameworks
- Broader system knowledge of Mine and Port interfaces
- Experience in systems and tools development & analytical capabilities
