Our Telfer operation in Australia is now recruiting for the position of Senior Planning- Weekly Planning.

Telfer Operations:

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance.  Our comfortable, well-furnished rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days to support our community feel at Telfer. 

The Role:

We're seeking a Senior - Weekly Planner to join our Telfer Operations. In this role you will be responsible for addressing and planning for labour, parts, equipment access and work pack development to assist our operations. This role is FIFO from Perth, 8 days on, 6 days off flying on Mondays.

This role will see you lead the short-term planning team, as well as: 

  • Effectively work & collaborate with all stakeholders ensuring positive working relationships with high productivity and quality achieved from the team
  • Deliver maintenance work packs which minimise costs, minimise equipment downtime and maximise labour & add value
  • Plan and schedule Major Maintenance & Project Tasks with the aid of an Approved Engineering Scope of Works
  • Work closely with the Maintenance teams in the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of all planned maintenance activities
  • Actively coach other members of the Maintenance, Operations & Engineering teams in the MBP
  • Identify improvements in the Work Management process
  • Ensure compliance with Newmont’s Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Policies & Procedures and encourage others. 
  • Ensure all Employees & contractors to conduct themselves in accordance with Newmont’s Code of Conduct and Values at all times. 

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will be a team player,  a highly organised individual who is able to successfully plan and deliver to targets. As the Senior you will also be expected to support and encourage those around you. Along with this you will have:

  • Previous experience in mine planning or maintenance planning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
  • C Class Manual Licence
  • SAP Maintenance experience essential.
  • Strong leadership skills
