The Jaguar Operation is a 1km deep underground mine producing Zinc, Copper and Silver utilising longhole open stoping with cemented rockfill mining methods.
The Company is now seeking a highly motivated Senior Production Engineer to champion all mine production activities for the Jaguar mine. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent you will be responsible leading the mine production team and be responsible for drill and last, ventilation, projects and short-term scheduling.
The role is based at our Jaguar Operation, Leonora, WA on an 8/6, 4/3 roster or variation thereof.
Duties and responsibilities:
Jaguar Operations employs more than 250 people and is located 60km north of Leonora and 250km north of Kalgoorlie. Our workforce is predominantly a FIFO workforce from Perth to our camp facilities 10 minutes from site with fully equipped gym, recreational and social activities organised as well as Foxtel and Wi-Fi in camp for use.
Jaguar Operations is an established underground zinc, copper, and silver mine located 65 km north of Leonora in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. It is a high-quality asset in an established mining jurisdiction that produces two separate concentrate streams: a copper concentrate and a zinc concentrate. The operation includes a 600ktpa processing plant, as well as surface and underground infrastructure, and has been in production for more than 10 years.
The Bentley mine is the current focus of operations. Jaguar Operations has a current mine life of four years, although recent successful exploration campaigns are expected to lead to significant mine life extensions.

- Providing leadership and direction to the mine production engineers and graduate mining engineers (direct reports),
- Assist the Technical Service Superintendent and Mining Manager implement mine production improvement projects for the Bentley Underground Mine,
- Establish and maintain, relevant standards for drill and blast, ventilation etc.
- Ensure all underground compliance checks are undertaken in accordance with the WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022,
- Prepare accurate weekly schedules in line with the budget and LOM plans,
- Produce stope notes to ensure safe and efficient production plans are created.
- Be keen to lead and mentor a small, enthusiastic, team of mine production engineers,
- Tertiary qualified in Mining Engineering accompanied by extensive experience in a similar role within an underground mining environment,
- Have solid exposure to various stages of an underground operation, including competencies gained in ventilation, backfill, production, scheduling and drill & blast.
- Be a proficient user of mining industry software (Deswik), including CAD and Scheduler,
- Hold a WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (desirable – not essential).
