The role of Senior Project Engineer invites you to become an integral part of our Major Projects - Studies team. In this position, you can guide the development of critical packages within our Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility studies. This role offers a unique chance to apply your technical prowess to significant infrastructure projects where your insights and contributions will play a crucial role in the success of significant feasibility studies, with a particular emphasis on mechanical systems and fluid transport.

Reporting to the Principal Studies, key responsibilities include: 

  • Apply mechanical engineering expertise to review critical documents (PFDs, P&IDs, drawings, calculations), ensure study objectives align with agreed scopes, and actively participate in design and safety reviews while upholding workplace safety and environmental standards.
  • Create project scopes, management plans, and schedules; run weekly engineering design meetings to manage performance; contribute to planning, operations, and monthly reporting; and establish productive relationships with all stakeholders to foster a culture of care, trust, togetherness, and excellence.
  • Ensure compliance and continuous improvement: Understand and apply regulatory requirements for design, construction, and infrastructure delivery; contribute to ongoing site improvements, processes, QAQC systems, and safety initiatives, including hazard reporting and investigations.
  • Support cross-functional processes: Participate in change management, contracts and procurement, and risk management processes; proactively seek economic and safe solutions for infrastructure development; and support site activities as needed while balancing project objectives with organisational values.
  • Some travel to mine sites will be required to support the study work.

ABOUT YOU 

You will ideally have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Draw from 10+ years in mining/mineral processing, including significant exposure to piping and mechanical systems, to contribute deep insights and practical expertise to projects.
  • Utilize a diverse skill set in project delivery, planning, and stakeholder management, with particular strength in piping and mechanical scopes
  • Be prepared to make mistakes, learn from them, and use strong problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles in various engineering domains.
  • Excel at teamwork and effectively communicating across all levels, bringing people together to achieve common goals in complex projects.
  • Maintain a flexible, dynamic approach while responding promptly and comprehensively to requests
  • Combine advanced computer literacy with English proficiency

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
