We are looking for an ambitious and driven Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of sustaining capital projects for our Dampier operations. Based in Perth on a 5/2 Roster, this role will lead a small team of project delivery leads responsible for the safe and timely delivery of projects from pre-feasibility through to implementation and closure of the project.

This position is a great opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic project professional to extend their expertise and apply their project knowledge to a diverse range of Fixed Plant brownfields projects.

Reporting to the Superintendent Delivery, you will:

·         Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Project Delivery Leads,

·         Ensure the safe delivery of the portfolio of sustaining capital projects from pre-feasibility, through feasibility and into implementation

·         Monitor project progress and compliance to schedule

·         Liaise with key stakeholders throughout the project phases

·         Act as point of communication between the Perth and the Dampier teams

·         Review and implement project plans, documents and standards

·         Ensure all site construction activities are delivered in line with Rio Tinto HSE standards and policies

What you’ll bring

·         Relevant tertiary engineering degree

·         Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships across a wide range of stakeholders

·         Project management experience within a mining or heavy industrial environment

·         An understanding of cost management and control of a project budget

·         A current ‘C’ class driver’s licence

·         Previous experience delivering projects for large scale mining clients will be beneficial

·         Knowledge of fixed plant bulk materials handling equipment will be advantageous

Where you will be working

This position will be Perth based working Monday to Friday with flexible working arrangements of working out of Rio Tinto’s Central Park offices in the CBD and from home, with ad hoc site travel.

This permanent Monday to Friday Perth based position will be offered with a hybrid of flexible working from home arrangements and working out of Rio Tinto's Perth Central Park building offices in the CBD.   Ad hoc travel to our sites in the Pilbara will be required.
