We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join the Project Owners Team to support the delivery of the Brownfields Scope within the Western Range Project. You will play a key role in overseeing an EPCM project delivery team who is responsible for delivery of engineering designs, managing cost and schedule, interfacing with key stakeholders, and safe execution of site works.

This position is a great opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic project professional to extend their expertise and apply their project knowledge in a large Fixed Plant brownfields shutdown.

Reporting to the Area Manager and working in a collaborative community within the Western Range Brownfields team, you will be:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to an EPCM Project delivery team
  • Manage project scope progress and compliance to schedule and cost
  • Liaise closely with key stakeholders throughout the project delivery
  • Review and implement project plans, documents and standards
  • Ensure all site construction activities are delivered in line with Rio Tinto HSE standards and policies
  • Be prepared for frequent site travel for the duration of the shutdown

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Significant experience in project engineering and/or project management.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant fixed plant brownfields shutdown experience
  • Project management experience within a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of fixed plant bulk materials handling equipment
  • An understanding of schedule and cost management
  • A current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
