Senior Project Engineer - Plant Automation

Work location: 

Perth, WA

Fortescue’s East Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: 

Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Fixed Plant Automation team on a 12 month fixed term contract with a possibility of extension.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Develop scoping of work documents for various electrical/mechanical/control system scopes
  • Engage key stakeholders to ensure projects satisfy operational requirements
  • Engage with suppliers and vendor to obtain technical, cost and schedule information
  • Manage project budget allocations and assist with cashflow forecasting and reporting
  • Interface Management between consultants, suppliers and internal design teams
  • Work closely with Scheduling team to ensure project schedules are being met
  • Assist in the transition to project execution after project approval phase
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely adhering to Fortescue Vision and Values

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Engineering Degree or similar
  • Extensive Project Engineering experience with detailed design on Fixed Plant and Automation Related  projects
  • Control Systems experience highly desirable
  • Statistical Data Analytics experience desirable
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience with an understanding of financial and scheduling requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Australian Standards (Electrical)
  • Good understanding of the balance between technical and commercial outcomes
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Project Management qualifications or training highly regarded
