Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Geologist to join a highly skilled team of geoscientists providing services to all Yancoal’s assets, including exploration management, modelling, tenement reporting, resource estimation in accordance with the JORC Code and special projects. Reporting to the Exploration Superintendent, key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Ability to work across multiple mines and projects in Australia.
• Think on your feet, to find practical and innovative solutions. 
• Lead a team of exploration contractors on site-based activities to deliver critical data.
• Knowledge transfer with Technical Services Teams for developing exploration plans, budgets, site access, environment and cultural heritage compliance, safety management.
• Develop and deliver life of asset resource knowledge plans to meet the planning and development needs of operations.
• Collate key exploration data, ensure practical validation and storage management of data.  

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology
• Previous experience in the provision of geological applications within an open cut and/or underground mining environment.
• Prior use of geological software packages and an ability to demonstrate resource modelling skills.
