Our Water Resource Evaluation (WRE) division is responsible for providing the technical advice and direction necessary to mitigate water-related risk across our Pilbara operations at all stages of mine development, from concept through to feasibility, implementation, operations and closure.

A great opportunity now exists for a Senior Project Hydrogeologist to join our Water Resource Evaluation team in Perth. In this diverse and varied role, you will oversee a small team of Hydrogeologists working on developing hydrogeological understanding of a large suite of Greenfields deposits. The role will require the development of innovative groundwater management strategies to satisfy modern ESG expectations. The position manages a diverse array of activities spanning technical hydrogeology analysis, reporting and water well drilling design and support.

You’ll be a part of a close-knit team and supported by a great leadership team who understand working together, looking out for each other and having fun is priority!

Reporting to the Superintendent Hydrogeology, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, supporting and mentoring a small team of Hydrogeologists
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Developing dewatering and water management strategies to meet study requirements - right through to mine closure
  • Supporting environmental approval processes for greenfields developments
  • Providing technical, safety and project management oversight of hydrogeological field programmes
  • Developing scopes of work to design and define dewatering, reinjection, and monitoring networks

What you will bring

  • Tertiary Geology or Geoscience qualification (post-grad qualifications in hydrogeology advantageous)
  • The ability to engage effectively and collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external partners
  • Significant demonstrated experience in hydrogeology/ hydrology in industry, consulting or regulators

This role is based in Perth at our Central Park building with travel to the operating sites as required.
