Role overview:

Fortescue's Chichester Fixed Plant Projects team are responsible for managing and executing capital projects within Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek Fixed Plant. Reporting to the Fixed Plant Project Superintendent the Senior Project Lead is responsible for ensuring project management adherence to framework and governance and capital compliance to forecasting and portfolio management.

The Senior Project Lead manages a team of project managers and project execution supervisors. Portfolio optimization and resource loading is a key focus for this role while supporting their team.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Supporting and coaching project management team
  • Portfolio management and reporting
  • Safety management and compliance
  • Execution management and compliance
  • Capital forecast performance reporting
  • Shutdown execution planning & preparation

Qualification and Experience:  

  • Project Management experience with exposure to budget preparation, cost control and reporting, and Building High Performance Teams
  • Leadership experience with ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to multitask on several activities/priorities at the same time
  • Must be able to work with wide-range of stakeholders, building and maintaining rapport, understanding stakeholder needs and using influencing skills to establish a win-win outcome
  • Strong analytical & data query skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills with the ability to convey technical detail, potential risks and opportunities within the planned works to a variety of stakeholders
