ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a permanent opportunity offering a 4/3 roster, FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane.  

As the Senior Project Lead Electrical You will be responsible for leading a program of EIC capital and operational works, guiding project teams to deliver safe, cost-effective and fit-for-purpose outcomes from concept through to handover and close-out.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Champion a safe culture aligned with South32 values and critical controls
• Govern tollgate submissions, project changes and framework compliance
• Control budgets, schedules, cash flow, risks and monthly program reports
• Build stakeholder partnerships and support a high-performing project team

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Extensive project leadership experience within brownfield resources environments
• Proven oversight of large, concurrent project portfolios and complex priorities
• Strong EIC technical knowledge, with remote project delivery experience
• Effective stakeholder, team and supplier leadership across project lifecycles

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Engineering degree or equivalent tertiary qualification
• Project management qualification, desirable
