The Role
Aeris is growing - at the start of FY23, the Company expanded from two to four mining operations and acquired the significant Stockman mine development project. The expansion came from the acquisition of the privately-owned Round Oak Minerals to form a dynamic and agile mid-tier mining company.
  
The Senior Projects Engineer (SMP) provides Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) Technical / Project Engineering expertise to support project development / delivery of the Aeris Growth Capital pipeline. The role’s emphasis will be on ensuring nominated projects are scoped, appropriate level of Engineering achieved, works are planned and executed Safely, to target Schedule and Cost, meeting Quality expectations and within Regulatory requirements and commitments.  
  
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilise your Project Engineering and Delivery skills and expertise to ensure all proposed Designs and ‘build / Installation’ can be Safely undertaken including Safe Operations and Maintenance (Designs must be fit for Aeris purpose). 
  • Manage Engineering / Design consultants to specified scope, time, cost and escalate where Performance is not meeting expectations and targets (at risk).
  • Work closely with Aeris Construction leadership team to ensure all field / site works are planned ahead, supported with required Work Orders, detailed job plans, including Operational Shut schedules (if required).
  • Ensure detailed Construction methodologies and / or work methods are submitted by vendors as key inputs into their respective CRAW’s and works are undertaken accordingly.
  • Ensure appropriate systems, processes and tools are used to support Engineering / Design (per Work Package), off-site fabrication / manufacturing, field works installation including QA/QC, ITP surveillance, tracking and reporting, permitting (what ‘good’ looks like).
  • Lead and participate in key Project Assurance / Safety-in-Design principals are applied and integrated from the start and subjected to Change Management as required.
  • Ensure works under PO / contract meet SOW requirements specific to key deliverables required, Progress reporting / Claims and VDR submission.
  • Ensure required ‘Constructability’ aspects associated with each Work Package are undertaken (reviewed, challenged) prior to field works commencing and Contractor Mobilisation requirements met.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent. Project Management qualifications are preferred.
  • Significant experience across Resources and / or Heavy industries, with demonstrated positions in Project Engineering capacity.
  • Extensive experience in planning and delivery of a multi-disciplined Major or Sustaining Capital projects, specifically within an operating Mine setting with detailed OEM and Regulatory interfaces (Installation, Verification, Testing & Commissioning).
  • Experience leading Work Packages with significant Design, Regulatory-constraint interfaces within a green-fields and brown-fields involving multi-faceted OEM equipment supplies, Staging Yards, geographically dispersed work fronts, field installation, Verification, Commissioning.
  • High degree of Project Engineering / Management capability, including Risk and Change Management.
  • Excellent understanding of statutory requirements, with ability to interpret Company policies, procedures and how these affect / need to be reflected in Project-build and post Project Operations.
  • Capability to work to strict deadlines, with competing timeframes with priority management skills requiring a high degree of accuracy and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, SharePoint and MS Teams; and basic User knowledge of Pronto, SAP ERP (Sourcing) or equivalent, Aconex, SharePoint.
  • Current ‘C’ Class drivers licence and willingness to travel to remote locations across NSW, QLD, VIC & WA.
The Company
  
We’ve had a big couple of years! In FY2021 Aeris Resources acquired Cracow Gold Mine in QLD and enjoyed exploration success at our exciting Constellation deposit at Tritton Copper Operations in NSW in FY2022.

In FY2023 Aeris completed its acquisition of Round Oak Minerals adding two additional producing mines to our portfolio, Jaguar in WA and Mt Colin in Qld, and the Stockman project. In future we expect to grow again.

This growth positions Aeris as Australia’s next mid-tier base and precious metals producer. Aeris will produce more than 60ktpa copper equivalent, roughly doubling our operating footprint.
