The Technology Development team in Group Technical – Services and Delivery works across a broad range of unique mining technologies that include machine automation projects such as the Autonomous Drilling System, real-time data platforms and 3D visualisation systems.

About the role

We are looking for a self-directed and motivated Senior QAQC Engineer to be part of an agile multi-disciplinary global development team working on industry-leading mine automation solutions.

This is a great opportunity to work across a broad range of cutting-edge mining technologies including autonomous mining systems, real-time visualisation tools built on 3D gaming engines and systems dealing with real-time Geo-data. Reporting to the Principal Advisor QA/QC and working in a professional, collaborative global community you will:

  • Write and maintain test plans and test strategies for various systems in consultation with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain testing artefacts such as test cases, test scripts, test reports and test plans.
  • Provide quality advice and recommendations to stakeholders and work closely with product teams and customers to ensure the test scope meets the technology requirements.
  • Configure test environment, including data integration platforms and execute associated test cases to identify systems problems and issues.
  • Identify and diagnose functionality errors and faults in systems, and programming code within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure systems perform to specification.
  • Design, develop and execute automated testing frameworks/ tests in conformance with CI/CID practices.
  • Extend our in-house solution for automated data quality monitoring and reporting that supports operational decision making based on quality based information.
  • Develop best in class testing practices, that can be leveraged to deliver business value more efficiently

What you will bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science or related disciple
  • Experience in software and/or hardware testing.
  • Experience in testing including activities such as test planning, automated testing, performance testing and manual regression testing.
  • Development experience
  • Python
  • Linux
  • SQL and data analysis skills

Highly desirable skills and experience

  • DevOps knowledge
  • Virtualisation technologies (Docker/Vagrant)
  • Azure Cloud
  • Postgres/PostGIS
  • Infrastructure as code tools (puppet/ansible)
  • Source control tools (git)
  • Familiarity with GIS/spatial data

Where you will be workingThis role is based in Perth, Western Australia, out of our Central Park office, working Monday – Friday. We support and encourage flexible working arrangements.
