The Opportunity – Senior Reliability Engineer – Asset Management – 9-day fortnight working arrangement

Reporting to Superintendent – Asset Management, the purpose of this role is to set standards and expectations for asset management across the Mine, Refinery and Port, aligned to proven industry best practices.

This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.


Location

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.

Accountabilities

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Drive continuous improvement of asset management and maintenance systems, processes and procedures to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Provide leadership to Graduate Engineers
  • Develop and maintain Asset Management Plans
  • Review failure data, conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and system-wide analysis to develop practical maintenance strategies and enhance operation reliability
  • Practice and drive root cause failure analysis, collaboratively across the site
  • Review and improve total cost of ownership models in order to identify low reliability, high maintainability assets and initiate improvement projects where required
  • Provide technical support and promote nest practice in discipline specific areas
  • Initiate and guide projects with strategic importance to business-like long-term sustainability and material risk

About You  

  • At least 10 years’ experience working in a technical role in mineral processing, oil and gas or power generation/distribution sector.  Experience with fixed plant highly regarded.
  • Engineering degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline
  • CMMS experience (SAP Work Management experience desirable)
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels including internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (including ISO 55000 series), recommended practices and legislation desirable
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach
