About the role:

We are currently seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer at our Coppabella Moorvale Mine Complex. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Planning, the scope of your role is to improve the availability and reliability of CMJV’s heavy mobile equipment (HME) through the reduction or elimination of unplanned failures. This position works closely with Peabody’s Equipment Health team in Brisbane and OEM’s on site.

Duties will include:

  • Development of maintenance strategies for all equipment 
  • Carrying investigations including Root Cause Analysis to develop corrective strategies
  • Advise on and facilitate the maintenance improvement and defect elimination projects
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring for Maintenance Technicians in reliability and sample and data collection and analysis 
  • Review condition monitoring reports and recommend actions 
  • Conduct statistical analysis of fleet equipment performance and development of action plans and recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Review equipment strategy and assess risk vs. cost effectiveness
  • Develop and deliver presentations to the maintenance teams to share learning’s and change to systems/processes 
  • Develop and report on standard reliability metrics
  • Monitor data integrity and analyse equipment data

The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.

About you:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred or Mechanical / Electrical Trade certificate with significant experience in a Reliability Engineering role (in lieu of a degree)
  • 5 years experience as a Reliability Engineer, with at least 3 years in mining
  • Practical knowledge and application of FEMECA methodology
  • Previous experience with CMMS Systems such as SAP

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will have excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills with an ability to communicate and influence across all levels. They will possess high level data analysis and problem solving skills, be a critical thinker and have a desire to apply continuous improvement.
