We are looking for a Senior Engineer Scheduling for Oyu Tolgoi (OT). This role will be Brisbane-based, on a lifestyle 5:2 roster. Occasional international travel to Mongolia will be required (~2 trips per year).

Reporting to the Superintendent - Scheduling & Systems, key duties will include:

  • Leading the life-of-mine underground development schedule (typically twice per year)
  • Working closely with the Studies team to run life-of-mine schedules for study cases
  • Working closely with the OT site teams to cascade long-term schedules through to the medium and short term
  • Fostering strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ensuring schedules are practical, consider key interactions, and are adequately resourced
  • Undertaking general scheduling related project and trade-off work
  • Management of the long-term critical path to key mining milestones
  • Further establishment, refinement and simplification of scheduling processes and ways of working
  • Seek opportunities to improve safety and implement improvements to reduce risk

What you will bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and others
  • Mining Engineering degree or equivalent with significant post graduate experience
  • Extensive mine design and scheduling experience using the Deswik suite
  • Demonstrated practical underground mining experience
  • A strong desire to learn and grow not only as an engineer, but as an individual
  • Highly effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including ability to collaborate remotely with global teams
  • Integrated schedule management, with sound understanding of ventilation, construction, and geotechnical influences
  • Mass mining exposure (highly regarded)
  • Experience in data management, analysis and visualisation with programs such as Tableau, PowerBI or Excel (highly regarded)
