Senior Software Developer

Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

The Strategic Planning Systems Team is looking for a Senior Developer to implement and develop new systems to create efficiencies in the drilling workflows of strategic planning. Reporting to the Superintendent of Drilling Data Management the role will offer exciting opportunities in capturing remote sensor data, providing the tools to optimize and improve drilling teams workflows and integrate new technologies within the existing technical landscape. Working with a small team of passionate developers from a variety of backgrounds, the empowerment to mentor and guide the team as well as implement your ideas in an extremely tactical and agile manner is on offer in this exciting opportunity.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors in communicating FMG requirements and overseeing the implementation of new systems
  • Investigate and develop systems to store remote sensing information
  • Develop and implement integration new systems with existing systems in the Strategic Planning Drilling Systems Landscape

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Experience in dealing with mining processes especially drilling data and drilling workflows highly desirable.
  • Good interpersonal and client-handling skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail.
  • Encourage Agile Methodology: Execute with sprint planning, review and backlog refinement activities.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture.
  • Ability to deliver intuitive user interfaces.
  • Open minded, and flexible to cater the businesses ever changing needs.
  • Database rationalization and optimization.
  • ETL scripting and configuration.
  • Coding of database procedures and integration components.
