Great opportunity for an experienced Senior Specialist Business Improvement  reporting to the Superintendent – Project Controls within the Mining Projects Department.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and coordinate the business improvement Blitz program
  • Provide technical expertise to identify data-driven initiatives that solve complex critical issues and improve the Mining Projects value chain
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe, structured, agreed and timely manner compliant with company requirements and objectives
  • Provide support to develop, coach and mentor team members to continuously improve their knowledge and skills
  • Drive and influence proactive safety behaviours within workgroups through visible leadership

Desirable

  • Five (5) years Business Improvement/Engineering/Leadership experience in mining environment 
  • Behaviour consistent with Newcrest values
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed skills in understanding stakeholder needs and requirements and translating these into action plans
  • Results orientation, willingness to be part of a sustainable solution with excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent relationship building capabilities, combined with strong communication and presentation skills tailored to the needs of the individual or group
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Demonstrated achievements in improvement and initiative management and leadership
  • Team and people management skills 
  • Lean Six Sigma experience 
  • Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills and sound financial judgment 
  • Highly developed project management skills and a solid understanding of solution driven methodologies
