As the Decarbonisation Senior Specialist, you are passionate, curious, enthusiastic, and willing to step-up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement-driven organisation.
The Senior Specialist is a key contributor in cross-functional expertise, direction to meet business needs, sets the Company’s Procurement Decarbonisation strategy, and accustomed to adapting to ambiguity and uncertainty.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the development and implementation of the long-term strategy for Procurement Decarbonization and coordinate execution across all Company’s categories of products and services.
- Represent the Procurement function in strategic internal and external meetings, provide advice to executives and key stakeholders on all aspects of the Procurement Decarbonization scope, encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy guidelines.
- Develop solid relationships with senior leadership from critical suppliers and influence internal stakeholders to maximize business and decarbonisation outcomes
- Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ESG and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on category objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation
- Lead negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver towards Fortescue’s decarbonisation targets
- Contribute and provide external benchmark perspectives against Procurement decarbonisation activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 10 years' experience in Procurement and Contract Management roles within Mining or similar industries with solid exposure and a qualification in Supply Chain, Business or Commerce is desirable
- to decarbonisation and project management, problem solving and customer/supplier relationship management skills
- Ability to think strategically and support multi-functional change management processes and a strong mix commercial acumen with proven category, problem solving and a can-do attitude
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively verbally, and in written form (powerpoint) with both internal and external stakeholders
- Prioritise activities across concurrent initiatives, monitor progress to milestones and deliverables and seek support as required to ensure strategic opportunities are maximised
- Flexibility and creativity - ability to adopt new methods to deliver outcomes and challenge existing paradigm
