About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Specialist – Fleet Management within the WAIO Rail Rolling Stock Maintenance team.
Working closely with Maintenance Execution, Reliability, Rail Engineering GTS, Planning and Integrated Operations teams, you will support the delivery of safe, reliable and sustainable fleet management outcomes through strong leadership, risk management, continuous improvement and people development.
Reporting to the Superintendent Fleet Management, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations
- Coaching the Fleet Management execution team across Field Leadership, hazard reporting, improvement pipeline, investigations, sustainable process building and risk management
- Attraction and retention strategy, including talent identification and coaching
- Challenging and developing the applicable workforce plan and operating strategy to deliver departmental KPIs
- Support with rail material risk controls (CCVs, CCEs)
- Coordinate between Maintenance Execution, Reliability, Rail Engineering GTS, and Planning teams to ensure improvements are locked into the work management cycle
- Coach and lead field leadership activities, including Layered Audits, Planned Task Confirmations, Critical Control Observations and Take Time Talks.
- Support Supervisors to ensure consistency in communication and aligned process across crews
- Support an environment where it safe to speak-up and discuss issues
- Provide leave coverage for the Superintendent Fleet Management
- Provide guidance, direction and coaching to support and develop Fleet Management Specialists
- Assist in organising and facilitation of leadership and team days
About You
As the successful applicant you will possess the following:
- Rail / Rolling Stock Maintenance / Integrated Operations experience (essential)
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Reliability or related discipline (desirable)
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant data platforms and control systems
- Current full West Australian “C” class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor vehicle license.
- Willingness and availability to travel to site, where required
- People leadership experience
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Firm understanding of risk management
- Business Improvement acumen and manufacturing / improvement mindset
- Strong communication and change management skills
- Practical experience in project delivery, campaign maintenance and/or business improvement
