Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter, and a refinery. We also have plans to expand our operations with new mines in the northern Goldfields and a large nickel sulphate plant in Kwinana
About the Role
We are seeking a GIS professional to join the newly formed Perth-based Geomatics team responsible for managing large scale raster regional imagery and digital terrain services, and numerous vector services primarily in an ESRI enterprise GIS environment. We also support customers with spatial improvement projects, analytics as well as functional teams across Explorations, Mine Planning, Water & Closure Planning, Project Studies, Environmental and Tenure.
As Senior Specialist Geomatics you will have the following responsibilities:

Manage our raster-based master terrain dataset (MTD) and imagery dataset (MID) – including data updates and customer support.

Manage other datasets in the ArcGIS enterprise environment: ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Data store, and Enterprise SDE.

Create spatial data, web mapping services and other web-based data products.

Support spatial analysis and reporting processes.

Publish data to ArcGIS online for use in ArcGIS Field Maps.

Provide GIS support to customers and the site-based teams

Identify ways of improving our processes.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will have prior experience working in the ESRI enterprise GIS environment. The following technical skills and application knowledge would be advantageous, but not all are mandatory:

- Web app creation via ESRI’s ArcGIS Online, Web AppBuilder and Geocortex
- Experience with online data management via Geocortex
- GIS Analytics and Insights
- SAFE Software FME Desktop and Server
- Scripting in CSS, HTML and JavaScript
- Raster and vector data management – imagery and digital terrain services
- Publication of web mapping services through ESRI applications
