Role overview:
We are seeking a suitably qualified Logistics Senior Specialist who will be a key member of the Procurement and Logistics group working closely with the Manager Warehousing and Logistics.
The successful candidate will have high level leadership skills and demonstrated experience in the following areas: expanding international freight profile, import taxes and duties, national road and air freight, leading/managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and have good links with international freight forwarders and national 3PL.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Design, implement, deliver and on-going support of reporting solutions that enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
- Understanding the demand and supply profile for all inbound logistics movements, developing the forecasting model and logistics schedules to meet demand, budget, and communicating these requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with our 3PL in line with vendor arrangements to deliver against KPIs and agreed outcomes with visibility of optimisation
- Ownership of auditing import Customs declarations, Tariff Codes, Free-Trade Agreements, and Incoterms
- Work closely with our international freight forwarding partners and internal stakeholders to ensure correct lodgement of customs entries and classifications and, where applicable, lodgement of tariff advice and tariff concession orders to minimise duty payable
Qualifications and skills required:
- High level Leadership skills are essential
- Data management, modelling, budgeting, and reporting skills with proven previous experience using ERP platform and MS Office suite is essential
- Knowledge of clearance & brokerage operations is essential
- Previous experience in logistics (air and road), forecasting/scheduling and customs clearance is highly advantageous
- Tertiary education is preferred
