Senior Specialist Material Logistics - Engineering & Projects

Work Location: Fortescue Centre. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster: Monday - Friday

Role overview:

We are seeking a suitably qualified Material & Logistics Senior Specialist who will be a key member of the Operational Projects department and report to the Superintendent Material and Logistics - Engineering and Projects. 

The successful candidate will provide specialist advice and support on project material procurement and logistics activities to ensure the current materials and logistics process is optimised for the safe and effective delivery of operational project scopes. Project scope ranges include but are not limited to NPI, Dewatering, Civil and Mechanical.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provides specialist advice on material and logistics activities to ensure the logistics process is optimised for the safe, efficient and effective management and delivery of construction materials to various NPI, Dewatering, Civil and Mechanical projects at all FMG operating sites across the Operational Projects Program.
  • Utilises inputs and attends meetings from cost, design and schedule team whilst collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide logistics, materials delivery and ad-hoc business support. 
  • Enforces the material and logistics processes, standards, SWI's and procedures setup by the team to ensure safe and effective delivery of materials
  • Coordinates with projects PM's to ensure project materials are procured within budget, expedited efficiently and safely delivered to project site teams

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of logistics, supply, contracts, procurement, and inventory processes and procedures.
  • 5 - 10 years' experience in general logistics, supply, contracts, procurement, inventory and delivery or medium to large capital project portfolios.
  • Advanced SAP & Microsoft Office skills
  • Supply chain, Contracts, Procurement certification or qualification with a recognised professional body is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision with a can-do attitude
  • High level leadership and communication skills
