Location
This is offered as a fulltime permanent opportunity based at the Worsley Boddington Bauxite Mine (BBM). BBM is in a fantastic region with several great country towns in the region to choose from to call home. Enjoy fresh country air, the open space of Boddington Shire, with great infrastructure, schooling, sporting clubs and a thriving community. The region is only 80 minutes south of Perth and only 60 minutes from the coast. Relocation assistant is offered for the right candidate.
Accountabilities
• Lead a small team of passionate and technical specialists.
• Provides high-level technical services to BBM’s mining operations and dispatching facilities in the areas of mining systems and computer networks to assist in guarantying safety, optimising operation, reducing costs, improving productivity, and increasing competitiveness.
• Coordinates and project manage the installation and configuration of hardware and software for the Mining Systems used at BBM (FMS, CAS and OAS) as well as all tasks and activities relating to the maintenance and performance of the Mining Systems components
• Manages, troubleshoots and debugs Mining Systems software.
• Ensures Mining Systems data is available and accessible to operational teams.
• Monitors data integrity and ensures all validation errors are corrected
• Provides support and coaching in the use of the Mining Systems to operational teams
• Proactively develops and fosters collaborative relationships with maintenance and analysis sub-functions to ensure timely maintenance of all mining systems components, maximising equipment availability and reliability
• Monitor and review compliance and safety against established procedures and standards and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
• Perform auditing and compliance tasks as well as implementing appropriate corrective actions
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with vendors and service providers
• Develops and implements continuous improvement projects (safety, cost, volume) related to mining equipment
• Drives effective change management where applicable
About You
You will have a passion and commitment to workplace safety and have experience working in a similar role within Mining or Heavy Industry.
In addition, you will have:
• Experience with fleet management, collision avoidance and fatigue monitoring systems (Required)
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve (Required)
• Knowledge of LTE and other wireless communication solutions (Desired)
• Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster alignment and collaboration between multi-disciplinary technical teams as well as sub-functions (Desired)
• Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency (Desired)
Qualifications and Experience
• Tertiary qualified in Computing/Information Systems, Electronics, Communications, Electrical or Mining Engineering or other relevant tertiary/trade qualification (Required)
• Between 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role within the Mining and Resources sector, surface mining experience (Highly regarded).
• Demonstrated experience with corporate and OT networks, including router, WiFi and LTE (Desired).
