About the Role

Bring your established skills to the team at Prominent Hill by developing the scope, costing and schedules for the life-of-mine plans. You will be overseeing the mine design and scheduling requirements associated with the life-of-mine plan etc. In this role you will also be responsible for the development of cost models and benchmarking.

Location: Prominent Hill , South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)

Roster:  8/6 or 4/3 (12 hr shifts) hybrid working options including onsite and offsite and working from home

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

  • Develop the scope, costing and schedule definition for the execution of life-of-mine plans and other studies.
  • Execute the mine design and schedule aspects of the life-of-mine plan and other studies.
  • Assist in the development of cost models and benchmarking.
  • Challenge the current status quo to improve quality, quantity, and timelines for long term planning processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the productivity and efficiency of the mine.
  • Facilitate option analysis and scope selection to meet business strategy
  • Develop intimate knowledge of site assets and industry alternatives to open up new innovation opportunities at Prominent Hill.
  • Gather and exchange information and ideas across the wider BHP group.
  • Build and maintain networks and relationships by developing trust and confidence with stakeholders.
  • Lead teams, as required, of experienced and qualified personnel to achieve positive outcomes.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in an underground mining environment
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of underground mining, mine planning and scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience in mine planning and scheduling software, preferably in the Deswik software suite.
  • Understanding of the JORC requirements and demonstrated experience with Ore Reserve Estimation
  • Proven experience in the project management cycle, to scope, seek approval, design, implement and commission projects.
  • Strategic thinker; establishes short- and long-term plans in line with business objectives.
  • Well-developed project, time management and prioritisation skills, with high attention to detail, excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to utilise the strength of others to achieve goals and use interpersonal skills to coach and develop others.
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering strong safety culture based on open and transparent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to consolidate and analyse information, apply judgement, and reach safe and cost-effective solutions

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering
  • Current National Police Check (NPC)
  • Valid manual Drivers’ license

The following qualifications, accreditations, and licenses are desirable for this role:

  • Post graduate study in Project Management or Finance
