About the Role

Reporting to Superintendent Exploration, you will join a committed team that is motivated to deliver technical excellence to the Geoscience team at Nickel West. The role of Senior Structural Geologist is technical role with accountabilities including geological data collection and interpretation, target generation and geological modelling. This opportunity provides the chance to develop your technical expertise in the Agnew-Wiluna Belt - a world class, highly prospective komatiite-hosted nickel-sulphide province.

The role is offered on a 7:7 roster located at Leinster on a FIFO basis and forms part of a growing Geoscience team.

Responsible for the following:

  • Provide structural input into exploration targeting.
  • Deliver structural geology models for open pit and UG mining operations.
  • Support mine operations production and safety factors, a main input for geological modelling and ground support.
  • Mentor and develop team members in structural data acquisition, interpretation and reporting.
  • Maintain and execute field mapping as required.
  • Receive training and develop your expertise as a structural geologist.
  • Complete good quality, regular field leadership.

About You

  • Bachelor of Science majoring in geology – advanced degrees highly regarded.
  • Exposure to 3D software and modelling processes, in particular Leapfrog Geo.
  • Exposure to ArcGIS, acQuire and Datamine software highly regarded.
  • A full current manual driver’s license.
