About the Role
Reporting to Superintendent Supply Chain Planning, this role is a great opportunity to continue to build and develop on your leadership journey. Within the role your primary focus will be to support the development of the strategy and planning for our Supply Chain (Port, Rail, and Mines) across the short/medium term (+2 months) and connect across our long-term (5yrs) horizons, while providing support, leadership and guidance to team members as well as Superintendent leave coverage.
You will use your analytical, strategic, and engagement skills to solve complex problems before they arise and identify and mitigate future risks, to support a continually growing business. Combining this your ability to synthesise outcomes to communicate clear, concise messaging across a range of stakeholders to produce quality plans that maximise volume, value and safety across the supply chain.
Maximize value for BHP Iron Ore by:
- Team development through coaching and mentoring team members
- Strong skill sets within the key areas of Engage, Lead Change and Develop areas
- Supporting and driving BOS principles within the Supply Chain Planning team
- Developing short and long-term integrated WAIO strategies/plans.
- Connect and support the sales marketing team with volume forecasts and risk profiles.
- Support and leverage modelling teams to solve current and long-term risks
- Support delivery of the five-year integrated plan (coordinated between multiple mines, Port and Rail).
- Constructing analytics solutions.
- Producing analysis outputs.
- Leading projects to support continuously improving supply chain outcomes and solving complex problems.

About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Prior leadership experience either direct or indirect is beneficial
- Experience providing feedback and developing new team members
- Desire for continuous self-improvement and to continue developing leadership skillset
- Strong ability to think both strategically and short term to solve complex problems analytically.
- Excellent engagement and presentation skills (ability to synthesize complex problems to a variety of stakeholders from frontline to managers/general managers).
- Degree in STEM or similar areas beneficial but not required.
- Understanding of operations or maintenance will be deemed highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage with diverse audiences and be persuasive.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work within a team to achieve outcomes.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make pragmatic decisions.
- Capable of working unsupervised and managing time effectively.
Location
In this full-time or part time permanent position, you will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi-award-winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state-of-the-art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers, and change room amenities, and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
You will be working on a Monday-Friday roster while a Flexi work arrangement is also offered.
