Survey Technician Advanced
Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex Perth
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Survey Technician to join the Operations Planning team at our Solomon Operation.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, your focus will be assisting the Mine Surveyors to deliver accurate and timely spatial data across the Solomon Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Adhere to Fortescue’s vision and values
- Comply with all safety directives, and work instructions
- Providing accurate survey pickups for active mine face, haul roads, waste dump and general pit updates.
- Maintain the Vulcan “Production Plan” to ensure its current and up to date
- Provide support to Mine Surveyors so that the EOM survey process happens in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist the Mine Survey to maintain the Sites Buried Services model
- Survey Pickup of ResDef and Exploration drill collars
Qualifications and Experience:
- Working towards a tertiary qualification in Mine Surveying (Desirable)
- Remote Pilots License (Desirable)
- 3 - 5 years’ experience working in a similar role within an open-pit operation
- Previous experience using Survey equipment
- Working knowledge of Maptek software (Vulcan and Point Studio)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Current WA C-Class manual driver’s licence
