About the role
This is a permanent full-time position.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will bring your experience and motivation to successfully lead the mine survey team, working closely with the site technical services, mine operations and projects teams providing accurate and timely surveying services.
Key responsibilities of the role include
- Lead and mentor a team of surveyors.
- Maintain statutory mine plans to the frequency and standards as required by relevant legislation.
- Maintain the mine’s underground survey control network.
- Provide technical surveying services and support to management, superintendents, and supervisors.
- Provide support in the “Authority to Mine” process.
- Reconcile and report weekly and monthly production metrics to various levels of the business.
About you

You should also possess:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Surveying), Bachelor of Surveying or Equivalent.
- NSW Registered Mine Surveyor
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably underground coal.
- 2 years as a Nominated Surveyor at an Australian Longwall mine desirable
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence within multi-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coach and mentor employees.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
