About the Role
The Senior Mine Surveyor leads a panel of eight surveyors in the provision of survey services across the mining operations. Development, Production, Geoscience, Backfill, Engineering and Supply are some of the many customers the team has.
In this role you will:
- Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team.
- Monitor expectations, understanding and application of Measurement and Reconciliation processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements and Group Level Documents.
- Manage and drive the measurement and reconciliation processes, ensuring standards comply with statutory requirements whilst leading improvement initiatives leveraging our BHP Operating System.
- Manage the allocation of resources within the Mine Survey team.
- Verify activities required to fulfil the requirements of the site survey activities, including the maintenance of site survey infrastructure and control networks.
- Build relationships with other departments and employees to ensure issues are addressed and resolved effectively in a timely manner. To learn more about BHP click here
About You
The following attributes will be highly regarded:
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’;
- Tertiary qualifications in Surveying, Geodetics or a similar field.
- Proven experience in a similar leadership position, working within an underground mining environment.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise across a variety of teams and key stakeholders.
- Experience with Deswik software preferred, but not essential
