About the Role

Our Leinster based operation is currently seeking a suitably experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to lead the underground survey team to high levels of excellence. Reporting to the Superintendent Survey, you will demonstrate effective work planning, as built QA/QC data management, compliance to business processes/systems and advanced leadership skills. Reporting to the Superintendent Survey The Senior Surveyor will manage the Survey department to provide services to the Leinster underground operation in a safe and timely manner. This is a key leadership role that provides coaching and mentorship to direct reports.

As the ideal candidate you will have:  

  • A current Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate Grade 1
  • Competency in Leica Total stations, Optech CMS, C-ALS, Gyro and mobile laser scanner equipment.
  • A high level of technical ability, data management, planning and organisation skills.
  • Experience with Deswik software.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • A current WA Drivers license is required.

About You

We seek an experienced senior candidate with the following attributes:   

  • Tertiary Qualification – Degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying
  • Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competency Grade 1.
  • Previous supervisory experience as a Senior Mine Surveyor (highly desirable)
  • Strong computer literacy skills and Deswik experience (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australia Mines Regulations, OH&S and Duty of Care

Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Leinster Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate.
